      WE WANT YOU!

      Local 77 Veteran Outreach Program

Our inaugural meeting was held Saturday, February 3rd in Spokane, WA with great success. We elected the following: Justin Bean, Chair; Frank Beatty, Vice Chair; and Jeff Reid, Secretary.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 15th at the Local 77 Spokane Union Hall, 1506 N. Washington St., Spokane, WA 99201, at 6:00 p.m. At this meeting, we plan to continue developing the newly formed Veteran Outreach Program. We will be voting on submitted proposals for the program name, motto, and mission statement, along with planning our first steps toward getting a vital membership with veterans within our Brotherhood. Any potential motto's or committee names are to be submitted in person at the next committee meeting on the 15th. Also, at this time, we will approve the resources to give to members to hand out to interested veterans. We are inviting IBEW Local 73 and the Military Liaison Office from Fairchild Air Force Base.

Participants at the meeting held on Saturday, February 3rd felt like this program is succeeding already and is full of the Brotherhood’s impactful energy. We want to make sure we are doing our part to help make the transition from active duty to an IBEW career easy for the men and women who have served and sacrificed for us.

“We want every all interested veterans can have an opportunity to know someone in the trade and learn about careers.”

“When I got out of the service I hadn’t heard of an Apprenticeship or the electrical industry.”

“The idea of a stable career and a brotherhood meant something to me as a former service member.”
